The 2025–2026 school year marks an exciting new chapter for the Poquoson High School Band as we welcome Mr. Andrew Smith as our new Band Director. We’re thrilled to have this PHS Alumnus return to lead and inspire the next generation of Islander musicians.

At Poquoson High School, our band program is guided by a mission to empower students through music—fostering personal growth, emotional expression, and intellectual discipline. Through structured instruction and performance opportunities in a variety of ensembles, students gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of music that extends far beyond the classroom.

The Poquoson High School Islander Band Boosters, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, works behind the scenes to support our students and staff—from coordinating logistics and fundraising to running concessions and transporting equipment. Our efforts are crucial in helping sustain the program’s success.

As our band continues to grow, so do the associated costs. While we actively fundraise throughout the year, we rely on the generous support of our community to help cover key expenses such as our annual marching show, the spring performance trip, and scholarships for graduating seniors.

Everything from Bull Islander Level plus

GOLDEN ISLANDER LEVEL: $300 or up
